Watch: How Sud Italia is scheduling ahead to help their employees

London-based pizza business Sud Italia treats their staff like a family. They expect a lot from their employees, but they give a lot back in return.
Rather than dictating when everyone should be on shift, they work with their staff to come up with a rota that works for everyone.
And when it comes to scheduling the rota, they try to plan two weeks in advance to give everyone time to organise themselves and their work. The result? A happier, more committed workforce and a healthier business. As Area Manager Angela says: “If they’re happy, I’m happy.”

How you can schedule ahead
The employees at Sud Italia are fortunate - as many as 69% of hospitality workers are only given a week’s notice (or less) of their next shift pattern. And with 51% planning to leave their current role in the near future, it’s clear that something needs to change.
67% of workers say that more advanced notice of rotas would improve their life, and so making the shift to scheduling ahead could be the difference between high staff turnover and a committed, motivated workforce.
That’s why we’re committed to makingThe Single Biggest Shift, to help businesses improve staff retention and build happier, healthier hospitality teams.
