CEO of Best Western GB
Over 20 years in Hotel Sales, Marketing, Revenue and Distribution, Rob has worked for a range of brands including international chains like Accor Hotels through to local and National Boutique lifestyle brands such as Malmaison and Hotel du Vin.
In recent years, Rob has managed several Hotel transformational programs including a major technology overhaul at Village Hotels.
Rob was appointed CEO of BWH | Hotels GB in January 2018 and has overseen a record expansion of Hotels joining BWH Hotels.
Senior Manager, STR
Alex leads STR’s AM:PM platform and is focused on scaling the product across STR’s global supply and pipeline databases. He began his career in New York, gaining experience in fixed income with Lazard, Merrill Lynch, and Scotia Capital.
He then moved into the hospitality industry when he joined Expedia’s sales and development team, working in both their New York and San Francisco offices. Alex subsequently moved to London for HotelTonight, with responsibility of managing partnerships with global brands and industry organizations. He joined STR in August 2016.

As Executive Vice President of Europe, Philipp Weghmann oversees the company’s growth and evolution in the region, as well as ensuring the retention of nearly 200 member properties across 25 countries in Europe.
With more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Philipp has an impressive record for supporting hotel owners and operators to achieve their sales, marketing, public relations and development goals.

Keterina is the Content Director for Montgomery Events, organisers of leading trade events for the food, drink and hospitality industries. Events include the Hotel, Restaurant & Catering Show (HRC), the Independent Hotel Show (IH UK) (IH Amsterdam) and many more.
Keterina is responsible for curating cutting-edge content programmes which are truly relevant and educational for the industry, both in terms of being representative of the current issues facing the sector and looking at future trends which are exciting and/or disrupting it.
Combining her knowledge of events and passion for the industry, she brings together thought-leaders, innovators and pioneers to deliver programmes designed to educate, engage and inspire.
CEO – Bespoke Hotels
Thomas joined Bespoke Hotels in 2010 and has worked his way up, having recently been appointed CEO. Growing up in a family of hotel and leisure specialists he has absorbed wisdom beyond his years.
He combines this with strong accounting and communication skills to drive optimum performance in all our hotels.
Thomas is also Non-Executive Director of Randalls, the largest pub company in Jersey.
CEO – Mews
Matthijs joined Mews with over 10 years experience working for the Hilton Group, one of the world’s largest hotel chains.
Matthijs brings a vast knowledge of the sector and an understanding of the flaws in the current technology systems offered to hotel management.
Matthijs’ inspiration to co-found Mews came from experiencing these shortfalls first hand and he is a firm believer in the power of technology to change the hotel industry for the better.
Matthijs holds a bachelors degree in Hospitality Management from Hotelschool The Hague.
Managing Director Europe, IHG®
Karin Sheppard has worked for InterContinental Hotels Group for 17 years. Karin oversees more than 750 franchised and managed hotels across several IHG brands in 39 countries, including over 350 hotels in the UK.
Over the course of her more than 15 years with IHG, Karin has held several senior roles in Europe, Australasia and the Middle East, spanning commercial, operations and brand development. Previous appointments include Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for Asia, Middle East & Africa (AMEA) based in Singapore and Vice President, Brand Management for the Europe, Middle East & Africa region. During her time in Europe she also represented IHG on several IHG Owner Association Boards.
Karin is driven by unlocking the potential of her teams, inspiring them to be at their very best so they can grow together. She holds a Masters Degree in International Business Administration with Modern Languages, from Aarhus School of Business, Denmark.
