If you already have a schedule that works for you, you can save it as a template which you can then use as the foundation for your weekly schedule, and roll it out for weeks at a time, fine tuning when needed. This makes it possible to schedule shifts way in advance, without having to use clunky Excel.
Another great feature is the Planday mobile app calendar sync feature, where you can set your work schedule to be displayed alongside your personal schedule.
Staff members can easily request time off through Planday. Once you approve a request, you will get a warning if you try to schedule an employee who has vacation booked (and your employee will be happy about this too!). Employees can also say which days and shifts they’re available to work, so you don’t have to waste time editing the schedule over and over again.
If your business has policies in place about overtime, or time needed between shifts, you can set up compliance warnings. You can also input your budget forecast and your actual daily revenue, comparing both to payroll to generate a salary percentage. From the Reports section, you can input your weekly revenue and compare that to salary costs. You can then see the percentage of revenue you pay in salaries, allowing you to create a schedule that works best, to improve the financial health of your business.
